Mr. Hubert Häring laid the foundation stone for Häring Schleiftechnik in a garage in Frittlingen on January the 1st 1990. Having grown up among grinding machines, his sons Timo and Bernd Häring are now successfully running the company. Grinding has become second nature to them. A new building was constructed in the industrial estate in 1998, followed by the first extension in 2004 and a doubling of the production area to over 2000 sq m in 2008. Due to continuous investment in new grinding systems, the production area became too small again in 2015, and Häring expanded the premises to include a warehouse and a delivery area. The company has now grown to over 45 employees, who work in 3 shifts to grind a wide range of parts made of different materials for industrial companies.

The company's success began with second-hand conventional centerless grinding machines. Due to the increasing technological progress, Häring decided in 2003 to invest in a new machine with CNC technology. This provided the boost for the first Ghiringhelli’s centerless grinding machine. Rettificatrici Ghiringhelli S.p.A., headquartered in Luino on the picturesque Lake Maggiore, was the first manufacturer of centerless grinding machines to use CNC technology and has been doing so since 1975. Ghiringhelli was founded in 1921 and specialized in mechanical turning operations at the time. Since 1965, production has solely focused on centerless grinding machines. CNC technology for the grinding wheel dressing was the big step forward for Häring Schleiftechnik! The switch to a CNC-controlled system immediately showed a drastic reduction in machine retooling times and, above all, a simple accomplishment of the simultaneous grinding of two or more components.

The range of parts finds its application in various areas: from the automotive industry and mechanical engineering to power tools, precision mechanics and much more. This means that very different materials made of steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and even plastic with equally variable dimensions have to be ground and the quantities vary greatly - from just 500 pieces to several million per year.

This means that the machines need to be extremely flexible. The range of grinding operations that can be carried out with the Ghiringhelli machines includes diameters from 3 to 50 mm and lengths up to 300 mm in plunge grinding and up to 500 mm in throughfeed grinding. Häring recognized these advantages early on, so Timo and Bernd Häring decided to adopt and implement the solutions and technological innovations suggested by Ghiringhelli. In the meantime, all conventional centerless grinding machines have been replaced, and the machine fleet now consists of thirty units, all of which are CNC-controlled.
